Take a Tour

Join us for truly one-of-a-kind in-person archaeology tours for those who crave both adventure and academic depth. Our tour groups are led by one of the Conservancy’s regional directors alongside expert archaeologists for rare access and insight you simply cannot get on a standard itinerary.

Expect unforgettable days with visits to historic and archaeological sites (occasionally our own preserves), museums, and digs when available. We book expert speakers and plan all the details, so you can focus on discovery rather than logistics.

• International & domestic destinations: Explore archaeological wonders in the U.S. and international locations.
• Exclusive TAC access: Visit preserved sites and private locations
• Museums and sites: Enjoy curated visits with experts.
• Active dig sites: Gain rare access to ongoing excavations and field research when available.
• Small groups: Activities that encourage deep discussion and discovery.
• Lifelong learning: Connect with other curious travelers.

Updated Archaeology Tour Policies

*last updated January 2026
*Note: This policy applies only to the 2026 tours of California Missions, Colonial Chesapeake, and San Juan River Tour.
A revised policy will be in effect for the Peru tour and all fall Conservancy tours. It can be found at the Details link next to each tour as listed above.

Reservations are accepted on a first-come basis. A non-refundable deposit is required with reservations. Full tour payment is due upon billing 60 days prior to departure. Cancellations 45 days or more before departure will be charged the amount of the deposit. Cancellations after that are 100% nonrefundable. For this reason, we strongly urge participants to purchase trip cancellation insurance. Refunds cannot be made to participants who do not participate in any part of the program or who do not complete the tour for any reason. The itinerary is subject to change at the discretion of the Conservancy, but participants will be notified of significant changes in advance. We welcome singles and couples. Tour cost includes a tax-deductible contribution to the Conservancy of $100 per person.
